![]() ![]() ![]() He made his creatures to desire relationship because he delights in relationship. The God of the Bible, however, is a personal being. We exchange the glory of the immortal God for a lesser more distant image of God that is uninvolved in the day to day and is unconcerned with relating personally to his beloved. We can so quickly find ourselves doing and doing for God without being with God. We can so easily find ourselves speaking about God more than we speak to God. With all the responsibilities, ministries, and business that can overwhelm the Christian life and really any life, there grows and increased dullness to the presence of a personal God. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee I long to be filled with longing I thirst to be made more thirsty still. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more.
